What Information We Collect

• Password (hashed and encrypted)

• Avatar customization preferences

Usage Data

• Social media check-in entries (time logged per category)
• Mood tracking scores and notes

• Achievements, badges, and streaks

AI Analysis Data

Important: When you use the AI content analysis feature:

• You paste or upload content for analysis
• This content is sent to Anthropic Claude or OpenAI for processing
• You receive back emotional impact scores and insights
• Content is NOT stored by Scroll Sense or the AI services after analysis

Technical Data

• Device type and iOS version
• App version and crash logs (for troubleshooting)
• IP address and general location (city/region, not precise)

What We DON'T Collect

• Social media account credentials or login information
• Your actual social media messages or content
• Precise GPS location
• Phone number or payment information
• Any data unrelated to digital wellness

How We Use Your Data

To Provide the Service

• Display your dashboard, reports, and insights
• Track your progress toward wellness goals
• Generate personalized recommendations
• Sync data across your devices
• Send timely reminders and notifications

To Improve the App

• Analyze aggregate patterns (never your personal data)
• Fix bugs and improve stability
• Develop new features based on user needs
• Measure app effectiveness through research

To Communicate With You

• Send service-related announcements
• Respond to support requests
• Send optional newsletters or tips (you can opt out)

What We DON'T Do

• Sell your data to advertisers or third parties

How We Protect Your Data

Encryption

All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption. This means your data is encrypted in transit and cannot be intercepted.

Storage Security

• All data stored on Firebase/Google Cloud, which uses AES-256 encryption
• Regular security audits and penetration testing
• Access controls limiting who can view your data

Password Security

• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (not stored as plain text)
• Scroll Sense team members cannot see your password
• Two-factor authentication available on request

What You Should Do

• Use a strong, unique password
• Don't share your password with anyone
• Keep your device updated with latest iOS version
• Log out on shared devices

Your Privacy Rights

Access Your Data

You have the right to access all your data. Go to Settings → Data & Privacy → View My Data to see everything we have stored.

Export Your Data

Settings → Data & Privacy → Export Data. We provide your complete data as JSON that you can save or import elsewhere.

Delete Your Data

You can delete individual entries, or delete your entire account:

• Settings → Account → Delete Account
• All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
• This action cannot be undone

Opt Out of Communications

• Unsubscribe from emails: Click the link in any email
• Disable notifications: iOS Settings → Notifications → Scroll Sense
• Opt out of analytics: Settings → Privacy → Disable Analytics

Correct Inaccurate Data

Edit any of your profile information or data entries directly in the app, or contact support@scrollsenseapp.com for help.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date and notify you via email if changes are significant. Continued use of Scroll Sense means you accept the updated policy.

Scroll Sense is designed for teens (13+) with parental consent. We comply with COPPA and related laws protecting children's privacy. Parents/guardians can request information about their child's account.
