• Social Media Usage Data: Time spent on social media across 9 content categories (Beauty & Body Image, Connecting with Friends, Entertainment, Trends & Challenges, Mean Content, Educational Content, Celebrity Content, Gaming, Posting Own Content)
• Daily Check-in Data: Your daily social media usage patterns, mood ratings, and optional notes
• Mood Tracking Data: Mood ratings (1-5 scale), mood comparisons, and mood-related notes
• Journal Entries: Written reflections, mood ratings, tags, and privacy settings for each entry
• Goal Data: Wellness goals you set, progress tracking, and completion status
• Sleep Health Data: Social media usage before bedtime and sleep quality correlations

2.3 Content Analysis Data

When you use our AI-powered content analysis feature:

• Social Media Content: Text or screenshots you submit for analysis
• Analysis Results: Emotional impact scores, content categorization, and recommendations
• Note: Content you analyze is sent to third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude and OpenAI) for processing. We do not store the content you analyze - it is only used for the analysis and then discarded.

2.4 App Usage Data

We collect information about your interaction with the App:

• Feature Usage: Which features you use and how often
• App Performance Data: Crash reports, error logs, and performance metrics (collected automatically)
• Device Information: Device type, iOS version, and app version (for troubleshooting)

• Purpose: AI-powered content analysis and wellness assistant
• Data Shared: Social media content you submit for analysis (text or extracted text from screenshots)
• Important: Content is sent to Anthropic for analysis but is NOT stored by Anthropic or us after analysis completes

4.4 OpenAI API

• Purpose: AI-powered content analysis (alternative to Anthropic)
• Data Shared: Social media content you submit for analysis
• Important: Content is sent to OpenAI for analysis but is NOT stored by OpenAI or us after analysis completes

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Data Storage

• Cloud Storage: Your data is stored securely on Firebase/Firestore servers (Google Cloud infrastructure)
• Local Storage: Some app settings and preferences are stored locally on your device
• Encryption: Data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
• Authentication: Passwords are hashed and encrypted by Firebase Authentication - we cannot see your password

5.2 Security Measures

• Firebase security rules restrict access to your data - only you can access your own data
• Authentication tokens are securely managed
• Regular security updates and monitoring
• Secure API connections for all third-party services

5.3 Data Retention

• Account Data: Retained until you delete your account
• Usage Data: Retained to provide historical insights and trends
• Journal Entries: Retained until you delete them or delete your account
• Content Analysis: Content you analyze is NOT stored - only analysis results are saved
• Deleted Accounts: All data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion

6. Your Rights and Choices

You can access your data at any time through the App:

• View all your journal entries, check-ins, and mood data
• See your usage statistics and trends
• Export your data from Settings → Data & Privacy → Export Data

6.2 Modify Your Data

You can modify your data:

• Edit or delete journal entries
• Update your profile information
• Modify your goals and preferences

6.3 Delete Your Data

You have the right to delete your data:

• Delete Individual Items: Delete specific journal entries, check-ins, or goals
• Delete Account: Delete your entire account and all associated data from Settings → Account → Delete Account
• Data Deletion: When you delete your account, all your data is permanently deleted within 30 days

6.4 Opt-Out

• You can disable notifications in Settings
• You can choose not to use the content analysis feature (no data sent to AI services)
• You can delete your account at any time

7. Children's Privacy

Scroll Sense is designed for users aged 12 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.
